A little more of the continuing mystery of Walt’s letters not reaching his aunt. We’ll have to wait to see if he ever gets those swimming trunks and dark glasses he has mentioned asking her for in previous letters.

A transcript follows the letter images.

Hello Ruth:—

How’s my Honey today? I hope O.K.

Went to school today as usual—this is the last week and I’m glad of it. It sure is monotonous.

It rained a little today, but I thing it is clearing up a little now. Hope so.

I didn’t get a letter today from you—Will probably get two tomorrow. I sure do miss even one little letter.—

Love me a little?—A bushel? I love you.

There is a rumor out that everybody recieved a 1st class private rating or higher [arrow from everybody to this parenthetical: (in the maintenance maintenance platoon.)]

I got a letter from Mom today and she said Aunt Ruth hadn’t got a letter from me for 4 weeks—Funny—I wrote her—She also said she got your pin—and appreciated it very much—the card too.

I can’t think of much to say tonight must of wound down.

I can still say

I Love You.

You are my Sweetheart

Aren’t you?

Guess I don’t have to ask that tho.

How is your dress coming along.—Does it fit so, so [crossed out sketch of dress with note: It didn’t turn out right] 0000000—If it does I hope I get a chance to see it soon—I guess you know the kind of dresses I like Unh?

Well Honey—Until tomorrow

I Love You
