I Love You.

Oct 21, 1942.

How is your back.
I Love You.

Hello Sweetheart,

How are you and all your friends, your red-headed friend in particular. She ought to be due soon, shouldn’t she? Ha. Take it easily Honey.

I just got me a haircut—that was a lot of news wasn’t it? As soon as I finish this letter Fields and I are going to take some strenuous calisten—— exercises, a hot shower and then go to bed. He is saddle soaping his boots now. I told him and Rummel if they would take the old polish of them I would make them shine like mine. They are taking me up on it, so I suppose I’ll have a shining job tomorrow.

Say—I’ll have a shining job along about Christmas time, I’ll have to look as good as is possible in Army clothes—which is none too good. I don’t suppose I ever be able to match my Honey—neither would I want

to. Ha.

Are you still making your weekly trips to Bible Study. I think they would get tiresome.

Well Honey—I don’t know—I’ve tried to make conversation—but—All I can think of to write about is us—and I think I’ve wrote about every phase unless there are new developments. I know one thing—I wish it were Christmas, don’t you?

I wish it were now—because I’m afraid something will happen before then—but I guess there won’t, I hope there won’t. That would sure “bust” things wide open. For—I’m planing very, very strong on marrying the sweetest, bestest girl in the world. She is my one and only sweetheart for the rest of my life.

Goodnight Sweetheart
